Leicester and Northamptonshire roll out AI scribes to 10,000 clinicians
The first NHS organisations to jointly deploy ambient voice technology at this scale.

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and University Hospitals of Northamptonshire Group have become the first NHS organisations to jointly roll out AI-powered ambient voice technology, after a competitive evaluation.
More than 10,000 clinicians across acute and community hospitals will have access to Accurx Scribe, which captures consultations and drafts notes, summaries and letters for clinicians to check. The tool is expected to support over 2.5 million outpatient appointments a year.
The pilot reported an average saving of eight minutes per patient on post-consultation documentation, about an hour less admin a day, and follow-up letters reaching patients the same day instead of two to three days later.
